Soriano Clutch Hit; AGAIN

The day after the Cubs took it on the chin from the Cards and the day that Zambrano just did not have it, the Cubbies were looking for a hero. Once again Alfonso Soriano filled the bill. In a game...

Colorado, Marquis Rock Cubs

I waited as long as I could before I sat down for another portion of crow, but as Zig Ziglar use to say, "If you know that you gotta eat a frog, you don't want to stare at it too...

Cubs Win Home Opener

Well it was a typical cold rainy day for the Cubs home opener, but that did not slow the boys of summer down. The leader of the bunch; Ted Lilly. Ted went 6 2/3 innings of no-hit ball until Garrett...

Brewers Lose!

I'd say Cubs win but, when four runs are walked in and you win by three, the game was handed to you. So you say thank you and get out of town with two out of three. Trust me, we...

Soriano Clutch Hit

Mmmmmmmmmm...this crow taste good. One day after lambasting Alfonso Soriano for his inept play in the field, and throwing in his inability to get a clutch hit in for good measure, I am sitting down for some tasty crow. I...

Soriano Just Bad In Left

Welcome to the Cubs Mr. Bradley, he gets his first hit...a homer run. Down 2-1 in the sixth Hill gets Harden off the hook for the loss with a two-run homer; Cubs lead 3-2. Marmol comes in the seventh and...

Extra Innings Kill Cubs

After a late inning home run by Soriano to tie the game, the Cubs cough and then choke in extra innings to lose. This game is an example of what frustrates me about the Cubs the last few years. They...

That’s One

Well opening the season with a win for the club is good. Also good was the fact that I was vacationing in Marco Island with the family which made it hard for me to watch the game. This was good...

Here I Go Again – Smarter?

Okay, it's been five months and I am just about over my tantrum. After two of the most devastating seasons as a Cub fan I think I might have finally had a revaluation; just because the Cubs haven't won it...

Cubs – Worst Team In The History Of Baseball

Wow, what a display the last two years, swept in round one both times. No fight, no character, just pathetic, and I've supported this team for 37 years. What does that make me? Pathetic. I was thinking, in my family...

Pitching, Defense Gets Cubs By Cards

Hang on, let me put my diphibulator away...

Another game in which that bats just really could not get going. The Cubs score three runs but two are unearned. In the top of the fifth the scoring went as so; walk, error, walk, walk, fielder's choice. Two runs without the benefit of a hit. The good news is that most of the Cubs are being patient and taking pitches, something that can be difficult when you are struggling to score runs.

In the next inning the Cubs showed some… Continue

Cubs Barely Survive

The good news is we got a win, the bad news is; only because the Cards gave it to us.

More good and bad; the good is Lilly pitched a great game. After getting rocked in two innings during his last outing, Ted Lilly did exactly what the Cubs needed him to do, go deep into the game with few runs. Lilly ended up going eight innings and only giving up one.

Which brings me to bad number one, what was Lou thinking taking Ted out with only 90 pitches and bringing in Wood who blew… Continue

Brewers Torres Talking Smack About Cubs

On Monday night after blowing a save against the Reds, the Brewers Torres was talking smack about the Cubs, Brewers race. Adam McCalvy's article for MLB.com quotes Torres as saying, "And the Chicago Cubs, they need to worry, because we're going to get them. That's all I can say."

Now, the Italian in me wants to start betting a million dollars that the… Continue

Reds Do For Cubs What Cubs Can't

Looks like the Brewers don't want to win the division either.

The Brewers lead 1-0 early then the Reds went up 4-1 in the 6th. The Brewers answered back with three in the 7th to tie it. That's the way it stood until, after plenty of chances, the Red's finally punch one across the plate to go up 5-4 in the 11th. The Brewers did nothing in the bottom of the 11th so the Reds won 5-4.

With the loss the Brewers stay 4.5 behind the Cubs.

Maybe the Astros will take it!

Cubs In Big Trouble

I'm trying to say positive about this season and I definitely won't blame any curse or voodoo BUT, this team is in trouble. They have lost eight of their last nine and I don't see a glimmer of the team that started the second half on fire.

The pitching has been steady but with the little run support they have gotten every mistake is being amplified. This game should have been won which makes two games in a row that the Cubs have straight out blown. This is not what a team should be… Continue
